You can "see the world" by resort-hopping in Las Vegas. In just one afternoon, you can experience the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the skyline of New York, a gondola ride through the Venetian, and the mesmerizing dance of the Bellagio fountains. Then you can plan your evening of dining, shopping, shows, casinos, and more!
The Power of the Vagus Nerve
The Vagus nerve (vaga = Latin for wandering) is the 10th cranial nerve that runs throughout the body, bringing a sense of calm and rest to the nervous system. It functions in opposition to the "fight or flight" system that allows individuals to move quickly or run from danger. This long nerve connects the brain, heart, and gut and restores these organs to a healthy state after a traumatic event.
Strong vagal functioning means the brain, heart, and gut can work optimally, operating in times of stress and peace. Individuals with low vagal tone often experience anxiety, depression, and somatic symptoms as well.
Learn how to strengthen your vagal tone and enhance your overall well-being in simple exercises that fit smoothly into a daily routine. Check out Episode 2 of Zen and the Art of Jetlag.
